How much do we care about our nature?

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 (20:49:58)
Hello everyone, I am Anežka and I am from Slovakia. Maybe you have heard about the situation here in Slovakia before, but I would also like to add something. A few weeks ago two foreign students from Aszód (our partnership school) visited our school and we managed to make a small trip for them in order to show them the beautiful Slovak nature. We showed them the nature around Tisovec and went by train in direction to the next bigger town named Brezno.

News from Aszód: visiting the local stream

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 (20:49:37)
Our first activity regarding this new topic was visiting The Stream Galga and testing its composition. By the school bus with two teachers and several students we arrived in Becske, the village where The Galga has its rise in. With the help of our geography teacher we made some tests, like temperature, chemical components and animals in the stream.

Pollution in Slovakia

Saturday, May 29, 2010 (13:59:25)
Hi everyone. I'm Karolina and I'm from Slovakia. I often go with my parents to Horehron (part of Slovakia - basin of river Hron) and see "artistic creatures" of irresponsible people. There are black landfills (illegal place of trash). There are enormous damages in nature by this behaviour.

Pollution: Visiting a river.

Friday, May 07, 2010 (20:18:03)
Hello everyone. Here in Norway, we have just finished our class visit to a local river. This is to form the basis of Theme 2: Pollution. We chose a local river called The River Selnes, and we also managed to find some previous data regarding tests done in the past. This was great because it meant we could compare the past results with the tests that we wanted to do. We decided that we were to test for Phosphorous, Nitrogen and E-Coli bacteria; all of these are connected with farming and agriculture.

I've made 2 videos about the meeting in Portugal. These are too short because limited to 30 seconds. I hope you will like it.
